H-1 Deadline Approaching-Filing For March 31, 2009
The H-1 non-immigrant visa is a useful class of work visa for professionals and/or individuals with significant verifiable work experience. In the past years the quota of approximately 60,000 visas was exhausted rapidly due to the demand for these workers. Not so this year because of the retraction of the US economy. It is clear that the decrease in this demand will permit others to successfully seek out and obtain H-1 status as of October 1, 2009.
The H-1 visa requires that a US company petition for a qualified foreign worker with the requisite university education and/or work experience. The US employer must have a tax ID number but in some cases, can be a small business or even a newly created business, so long as it can demonstrate that it has a legitimate need for the H-1 worker.
